The two boys were in the right place at the right time to save their lives, when they were walking in an overgrown area in Flint, Michigan, they saw an old sign on their way, writes shareworthy.
Tyler Price raised his foot, «shocked to see the dog six feet down,» looking back at them.
The weakened Pit Bull was stuck to the bottom of the sewer pipe drain.
Tyler his cousin Eugene ran home and told his father that they should help the dog. They called the police, and the rescue team of the local animals came out and took the dog to a safe place.
The boys named the dog Mars.
Shortly afterwards, Mars was taken home with her new foster mother, Theresa Kerry. He saw the story of Mars on social media and decided he wanted to help her.
Mars has heartworm, it weighs half what it needs, but it is already on medication, it has gained a few pounds after its rescue.
Teresa takes care of him and expects to take care of him for about a year before she goes into adoption. Kerry told WJRT that Mars is incredibly in love with her horrible ordeal.
«You can not approach him without kissing,» he said. «She is amazing.»
Mars would surely have died alone in that hole if Tyler and Eugene had not crossed that section that day and wondered what was under that sign.
Tyler’s father says his son’s actions could soon save another dog’s life.
«He has been with me since Sunday to get a dog, so we will get one that will be saved,» Tyler’s father told the news station. «She deserves it.» He certainly does.
Mars is ready to be adopted. Teresa posted an update about Mars on Facebook on October 16 wrote:
«Hello everyone! I feel great, I’m sterilized now I pulled out some teeth, and I’m ready for adoption !! Anyway, here’s the deal, I have to be the only dog or obedient female.
«Small animals. I need a 6 ′ high fence or a very strong connection. If you think you are a family to me, please contact mom. PLEASE SHARE! Thank you very much!»
