Frightened, and alone, he spent his whole life in a dirty cabin without the care of a veterinarian.
When Victor Larkhill and his rescue team arrived in Pepa, he was in a terrible condition, writes a page.
He spent his life in a dirty cabin without veterinary care. He had large breast tumours, a bad skin infection, and was very weak.
If he had spent more time in that cabin, he would have died there.
They immediately took Pepa to a local animal hospital, where they examined her condition. He trusted the staff there, he knew they were there to help.
They treated her skin problems and decided that it was too risky to remove her breast tumours that had metastasized.
They gave him a much-needed bath, clearing the dirt of the years. He was already feeling much better.
Pepa may be an old dog, but he still has the heart and soul of a dog. He likes to run, to play, and he always smiles.
Pepa now lives with one of their rescuers and loves the second chance of his life.
